The Foundation: Digital Marketing Apprenticeship Program
The Amplifying Scientific Innovation® Digital Marketing Apprenticeship Program is a student-centered innovation ecosystem designed to prepare emerging talent for the future of work through digital storytelling, content creation, communication strategy, and workforce readiness.
Founded by Dr. Sophia Ononye-Onyia, The Sophia Consulting Firm’s apprenticeship model combines real-world project execution, executive mentorship, multimedia storytelling, and innovation-focused workforce development.
What began as the Amplifying Scientific Innovation® Video Podcast has evolved into a growing apprenticeship platform supporting high school and college students across Orange County and beyond.
Program Evolution
Cohort 1
- Official launch of the Amplifying Scientific Innovation® Digital Marketing Apprenticeship Program
- Student apprentices contributed to podcast analysis, digital storytelling, blog development, and multimedia content creation
- Apprentices participated in Orange County workforce development activities and innovation-focused events
- Ava Moon was identified by DAS as a potential Apprentice Success Story following participation in the National Apprenticeship Week Employer Forum
Cohort 2
- Expanded apprenticeship structure with increased focus on measurable work output, accountability, and digital portfolio development
- Introduction of structured onboarding, weekly mentor check-ins, and staged deliverable frameworks
- Continued integration of podcast analysis, self-production, and workforce development activities
Cohort 3 – Fall 2026
- Recruitment planned following the summer cycle
- Increased emphasis on high-performing, highly motivated candidates with strong communication skills, leadership potential, and demonstrated initiative
- Expansion of apprenticeship pathways and leadership opportunities within the apprenticeship ecosystem
National Apprenticeship Week & Workforce Development Presence
The Sophia Consulting Firm has actively participated in National Apprenticeship Week activities in collaboration with the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE), including:

Pending DAS Occupations
The Sophia Consulting Firm is currently pursuing multiple apprenticeship occupation pathways through DAS-aligned workforce development planning, including:

- Executive Administrative Assistant / Operations Support
- Medical and Clinical Laboratory Technician
These pathways are designed to create expanded opportunities for apprentices interested in communications, operations, life sciences, project coordination, digital storytelling, and workforce development.
Apprenticeship Structure
Performance-Based Apprenticeship Expectations
The apprenticeship is designed as a real-world workforce development experience with measurable deliverables beginning in Week 1.
Apprentices should be able to commit to:
- Approximately 3 hours of work weekly
- Mandatory 15-minute mentor check-ins on Tuesdays or Thursdays
- A mandatory 1-hour monthly cohort meeting held on the second Monday of each month
- Weekly deliverables and ongoing communication expectations
This is a performance-based apprenticeship focused on accountability, professionalism, communication, responsiveness, and measurable work output.

Stage 1 – 1:1 Podcast Analysis & Content Development
Apprentices begin by analyzing selected episodes of the Amplifying Scientific Innovation® Video Podcast.
